Sorting Options: Customizing Product Order

Efficient product sorting can significantly enhance the shopping experience by making it easier for Buyers to find what they need. In Turis, you can control how your products appear in your shop by choosing from various sorting options. You can also customize the sorting order to best align with your business needs, ensuring a streamlined and user-friendly shopping experience.

Accessing the Products Section

To manage product settings, start by clicking on ⚙️ Settings in the menu on the left-hand side. Then, click on Products.

Once inside the Products section, you will see nine subcategories:

  • New products
  • Out of stock
  • Backorders
  • Stock visibility
  • Sort options
  • Product card
  • Shipping motivator
  • Buyer data export
  • Favorites

The following sections explain how to configure and customize Sort options.

Product Sorting Options

You have the flexibility to define how your products should be sorted in your shop. There are five preset sorting options available:

  • Newest: Sort products by the most recently added.
  • A-Z: Sort products alphabetically from A to Z.
  • Z-A: Sort products alphabetically from Z to A.
  • Custom: Choose your own sorting.

Click on the subcategory Sort options, and this window will appear. Use the dropdown menu to select your preferred sorting method.

Once you’ve selected one of the options, click Save to apply the changes.

Custom Sorting

If you want more control over the sorting of products, you can use the Custom sorting option. This allows you to upload a .CSV file that defines the exact order in which products should appear.

To create the .CSV file, list all the product SKUs in the desired order in a single column (without a header). Each value should be in a new row, and no delimiters should be used. Invalid SKUs will be ignored. When you upload the file, it will overwrite the existing sorting policy.

Example of CSV format:

Additional Settings: Managing Out-of-Stock Products

In addition to the sorting options, you can also customize how out-of-stock products are displayed:

  • Hide out-of-stock products: This setting allows you to hide products that are out of stock, ensuring that your shop only shows available items to Buyers.
  • Show last out-of-stock products: Alternatively, you can choose to display out-of-stock products at the bottom of the list, allowing Buyers to see these products but prioritize available items first.

What Does It Look Like in My Shop?

Once you’ve set up your preferred sorting options and additional settings, your products will appear according to the criteria you’ve selected. Out-of-stock products will either be hidden or placed at the bottom of the product list, depending on your choice.

By using these sorting features, you can improve the shopping experience, making it easier for Buyers to find what they’re looking for and helping to manage expectations for out-of-stock items.
