Delivery Dates (Leveringsdage)
What is Delivery Dates?
Delivery Dates (previously Requested Delivery Dates) allow you to manage when your retailers can request delivery for their orders. With flexible configuration options, you can set specific delivery periods, define minimum processing times, and restrict deliveries on certain weekdays to better align with your logistics.
Where to Find Delivery Dates
You can find Delivery Dates in Settings > Order Settings > Delivery Date.
When you open the page, you will see a toggle to enable or disable Delivery Dates. Turning this on will reveal all available settings.
Understanding the Different Settings
Delivery Dates include three main settings and two sub-settings that help customize the delivery request process:
Main Settings
1. Buyer can only select dates within specific periods
This setting allows you to define specific periods in which retailers can request delivery. It requires regular updates to ensure the available dates are aligned with your business needs.
Example:
- Admin View: You can block certain months (e.g., skipping March) to prevent deliveries within that timeframe.
- Retailer Checkout: Buyers will see only the allowed delivery dates when placing an order.
With this setting, buyers can choose the same delivery date for all products or set different dates per product (unless disabled in the settings).
2. Delivery date must be X days after the order date
This setting ensures that retailers can only request a delivery date a specified number of days after placing an order. For example, if you require five days to process an order, retailers will only be able to choose delivery dates that are at least five days ahead.
- When this is enabled, you will be allowed to add a time based condition to the delivery date.
Note: Since this setting is date-based, requested delivery dates may occasionally fall on weekends or other non-working days.
3. Disable certain weekdays for delivery
This dynamic setting allows you to restrict deliveries on specific days of the week, such as weekends or specific weekdays.
Sub-Settings
These additional settings can be used alongside any of the main settings:
- Enable buyers to modify the Requested Delivery Date after placing an order
- You can define a time frame in which buyers can modify their chosen delivery date.
- Ensure that buyers cannot choose multiple delivery dates within the same order
- When enabled, retailers must select a single delivery date for all items in their order.
- The buyer is required to select a delivery date
- When activated, this forces buyer to choose a delivery date before submitting their order.
All sub-settings can be activated simultaneously with any of the three main settings.
Additional Considerations
- All main and sub-settings can be used at the same time.
- Buyers can view their selected delivery dates in their order history and order confirmation email.
- Admins can always modify a retailerâs delivery date after an order has been placed. If an admin updates the delivery date, the retailer will receive an email notification (ensure this is enabled in Settings > Notifications > Buyers).
By configuring Delivery Dates strategically, you can streamline order fulfillment while offering flexibility to your retailers.
